Our firm provides visual communication tools that allow clients to show projects in context, explaining how things will work, that it will work and what it will look like. Our visualizations are used to provide realistic expectations and generate community involvement. We are committed to finding the best solutions to our clients' needs.

Our services include:

  • 3D Modeling
  • Photo-Simulation
  • 3D Animation
  • Multimedia and Web Development
  • Video Production
  • Virtual Reality (Interactive 3D)

3D Modeling
NC3D offers expert knowledge of specialized 3D modeling packages including 3D Studio Max and AutoCAD and engineering applications such as AdCadd and Quicksurf. We also have the capability to program custom modeling solutions when appropriate.

We have produced 3D models for:

  • architecture
  • urban context
  • highway design
  • vehicle design
  • bridge and structures
  • design diagrams
  • terrain and topographic analysis
  • land-use and right-of-way studies
  • 3D datasets, such as our model of Downtown Portland, Oregon.
  • Vissim 3D traffic simulation

Photo-Simulation

Electronically altering a photograph to simulate changes is an excellent way to communicate how a proposed project will look and feel.  NC3D has extensive experience producing visual simulations that have the detail and realism of photography. Combining high levels of craftsmanship and technical accuracy our photo-simulations allow clients to clearly demonstrate their vision to any audience.

    Photo-Simulations: Step by Step

We have produced photo-simulations for:

  • transportation design and planning
  • public involvement
  • visual and aesthetic impacts
  • bridge and structures design
  • urban design and planning
  • land-use and access studies

3D Animation

3D Animations are well suited for demonstrating how all the parts of a project will work together.  They allow people to visualize how spaces are used, and can create scenes that don't yet exist. As demonstrated in our article on Traffic Simulations, the need for realism can vary from highly realistic to bare-bones conceptual, depending on the the project.  We are experts in producing a complex, integrated 3D animations.

NC3 D has produced animations for the following applications:
  • architecture
  • transportation technology
  • traffic engineering
  • systems planning
  • public relations
  • operations studies
  • forensic re-constructions
  • signage studies
  • safety analysis
  • construction staging
