Donald Newlands, President & Principal As founder of NC3D, Donald brings over 23 years of experience working at the cutting edge of 3D graphics, visualization, and CAD. A graduate of Oberlin College with Highest Honors in Art, he also studied Landscape Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. This background served as foundation for his career in design communication and visualization, and led him to found the first 3D visualization firm on the west coast. Newlands acts as Project Manager and Creative Director on most projects in the studio, and has played a key role in design and community involvement for numerous major regional and national projects. As Principal of NC3D, Newlands has focused the company on remaining at the leading edge of a constantly transforming industry. |

Ray Collett, Technical Director Ray, aka The Scriptinator, has been taking care of technical matters at NC3D since 2002. Ray holds a bachelor's of Applied Science in Computer Animation from The Art Institute of Portland. As our official Reverse Engineer, he claims the first step in solving any problem is to throw away the manual. Ray is an active member of SIGGRAPH who enjoys skiing, hunting, Sci-Fi books and breakfast. Jared Boehm, Visualization Specialist
Jared the Output Guy has been with NC3D since 2003. A graduate of The Art Institute of Portland, he deftly wields a B.S. in Computer Animation, closely monitoring every pixel that passes through our offices. He enjoys video games, movies, hiking and photography, and recently purchased his first home with his lovely wife. When pressed (but not too hard), Jared will regale you with his voices, which include Smeagol and Gollum. |

Daniel Martinek, Visualization Specialist Dan joined the NC3D team in 2003. He holds a master's in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Brno in the Czech Republic, and has over 15 years of experience in his field. Dan is admired around the office for his feats of rendering wizardry, and placed second in the CGArchitect Challenge #4 "Rendering Drama". In his free time, Dan prefers to be outdoors, backpacking, skiing, biking, traveling and paragliding. He loves spending time with his wife and two-year-old son Lukas and he also appreciates a well-crafted, homemade plum brandy. |

Jared Hopkins, Visualization Specialist Jared has been at NC3D since 2006. He earned a master's in Architecture from the University of Idaho and also studied Engineering at the University of New Mexico. He's done research for The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), a "green" building rating system, in order to instruct, test and improve proposed architectural projects. Originally hailing from the Chicago area, Jared is an avid biker (as in, jumps 10-foot gaps) and massive Starcraft fan. He speaks a rusty, but fluent Spanish, has a strong interest in the Battle of Britain and makes found object sketch books when bored. He cohabitates with two very fluffy cats, Dagny and Acis. |

Matt Griffey, Visualization Specialist Matt has been cranking out animations with NC3D since 2005. After attending Eastern Oregon University with the dream of becoming a zoologist, he made the natural switch and completed a degree in Media Art and Animation at the Art Institute of Portland. Matt likes to play pool, play guitar and watch other people play baseball. He lives with his 30 year-old turtle Tyrone. |

Kevin Seewer, Studio Manager
Kevin signed on with NC3D in January, 2008, bringing 12 years of animation experience to the team. A graduate of Purdue University, he holds a BS in Computer Graphics. Kevin has spent much of his career as an Art Director and has had the opportunity to build two Graphics departments from the ground up. He also spent four years teaching post-secondary classes in 3D. When he's not painstakingly crafting an animation, this father of two likes to indulge in a little X-Box or Wii with the family. |
